In May 2024, the Linzor Mexico team, together with the management teams of our Mexican portfolio companies, helped build a house for a family of five in Villa de Allende, a small town in the State of Mexico. The family previously lived in a situation of poverty and overcrowding, and had applied for help with their home through Construyendo, a local NGO dedicated to building houses for families in need.
Forty-eight people joined forces in this project, comprised of the Linzor Mexico team and the senior management teams of UIN, UTEL, inConcert and Convertia and Engen TIP, all Linzor portfolio companies with operations in Mexico. In the span of two days and with support from Construyendo, the Linzor-led group managed to build a 46m2 concrete house with five rooms, supplied with electricity and water for a family of five people.
According to data from the Mexican government, in 2020, 54.3% of the population of Villa de Allende lived in a situation of moderate poverty and 19.5% in a situation of extreme poverty, while the vulnerable population due to social deprivation reached 22.7%.
