Tim Purcell is one of the founding partners of Linzor Capital Partners.
Mr. Purcell previously worked for almost twenty years at J.P. Morgan in the investment banking and private equity areas. He started his career in New York in 1986 in the Latin American Mergers and Acquisitions group, which he co-headed from 1996 to 1999. In 2000, he became Managing Partner of J.P. Morgan Partners Latin America, L.P., one of the leading private equity funds in the region. As one of the Senior Partners in J.P. Morgan’s private equity organization, Mr. Purcell was also responsible for overseeing the firm’s global investment portfolio.
Mr. Purcell serves or has served on the board of directors of the forestry company Celulosa Arauco S.A., the fiber-to-the-home provider Pacifico Cable SpA (Mundo Pacifico), the financial services companies Engencap Holding S. de R.L. de C.V. (Engen Capital) and TIP de Mexico, S.A.P.I. de C.V. (TIP), the apparel retailer Komax S.A., the post-secondary education provider Santo Tomás S.A., the eyewear retailer Moda en Distribución S.A.P.I de C.V. (Moendi), the healthcare conglomerate Cruz Blanca Salud S.A., the cinema operator Movie Entertainment Latin America, the telecom provider Nortel Inversora, the online business Patagon.com, the banks Banco Mercantil and Commercebank NA, the retailer Almacenes Exito, the cinema operator Cinemex S.A. de C.V., the industrial companies Grupo Convermex S.A. de C.V., BOPP Holdings and Latasa de Aluminio S.A., the distributor Casa Marzam S.A. de C.V., the life insurer Cruz del Sur Vida S.A., and the shopping center operator Parque Arauco S.A., among others. He also serves on a number of non-profit boards including Enseña Chile, Colegios CREE, and the Latin America Council of the Global Private Capital Association (GPCA).
Mr. Purcell holds a BA in Economics from Cornell University, a Masters in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Wharton School.
