David Stofenmacher founded UTEL with financial sponsorship from Grupo Guerra and Pearson in 2012. Prior to UTEL, David had founded a CTI company, a B2B marketplace, and a virtual advertising company for TV. After selling this company, he joined UNITEC’s board of directors (2005 – 2008) and worked as CEO of Instituto Internacional de Tecnología Educativa (“INITE”) from 2003 – 2013. Mr. Stofenmacher has also been a board member of Universidad Latina de Costa Rica (2005 – 2008) and Universidad Americana de Costa Rica (2005 – 2008).

Mr. Stofenmacher holds a B.A. in Sociology from Universidad de Buenos Aires and a Master’s degree in Communication from The Hebrew University.
